Music

The music ministry of Jeffersontown Christian Church is an expression of the deep and abiding faith of its members. From the youngest participants to the more "experienced," the choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, and leaders receive and embrace the charge to "make a joyful noise to the Lord."

Adult choir

The Adult Choir is directed by Debbie Dierks and is open to anyone who loves to sing. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 and sings in worship nearly every Sunday from September through May. They sing a variety of styles: gospel, spirituals, traditional and contemporary anthems, and classical selections. It is a small but mighty group of committed Christian singers who dedicate the very personal gift of singing to the glory and praise of God.

Joyful spirits band

The Joyful Spirts Band was created originally as a four-piece instrumental combo playing jazz arrangements of well-known hymns. The band now includes vocalists, a wide variety of musical styles, and provides music for Sunday worship and other special events throughout the year.

Kirkringers

The handbell choir name comes from the Scottish word for church and is a long-honored tradition of Jeffersontown Christian Church. Led by Debbie Dierks, the handbell choir participates in numerous worship services throughout the year. The angelic sounds they produce draw us closer to God and enhance our greatest purpose - to glorify and enjoy God forever. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.
